Y3/Y4
Welcome Everyone!
Welcome back to school Oak Class! I hope you had a wonderful summer holiday and are ready to start the Autumn term. We have lots of activities planned for Y3/Y4 this year and will do our best to make sure you stay up to date with everything that is happening.
This year, staff that will be working with our class are Miss Russon, Miss Porter, Mrs Leach, George (PE) and Mrs Mclaughlin. We also have the opportunity to enjoy some woodland activity sessions on a Monday with James, our Forest School teacher.
Our daily timetable will remain much the same as it has been previously. Mornings will consist of English and Maths lessons which will include spellings, handwriting and reading and will be taught by Miss Russon. The afternoon sessions will include PE, RE, Computing, Art and Design, DT, Geography, History, Science and PSHE. For different lessons, children may be working as year groups, whole classes or in small groups.
Weekly Reminders
· Forest school sessions will begin on a Monday (more info about this to follow!) PE kits may be worn for this.
· Children will be given a short homework task on a Friday that will be due in the following Wednesday.
· Children will be able to change their reading books at school when needed. This will be encouraged on a Wednesday when homework books are due in.
· PE will be taught on a Wednesday and this is the second day that children will need to be in their PE kit.
· Our Year 4 children will have their Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) in June 2027. They are encouraged to use TT Rockstars to practice times tables in preparation for this assessment.
· Our KS2 residential trip is in the Spring term. Please ensure school have all the information required from you and your deposits are up to date.
Please see our class page on the school website for more information about our curriculum and what’s coming up at Crowton Primary this year! Our classroom door is always open. If you have any questions, queries or generally need to catch up about anything school or child related, then please do come and see us.
We are so excited to start our learning this year. Here’s to a great Autumn term!
Kind regards,
Miss Russon
