We would like to welcome you to our Crowton school family. This is a very exciting time for you and your family and we will do our utmost to make the transition to school as smooth as possible.

The Reception year is a very exciting time for both parents and children. During this year we will all work together to ensure that your child will develop a love for learning which they will carry with them for the rest of their school journeys. We provide a nurturing and exciting learning environment to give all of our children the opportunity to grow and develop into happy and confident learners. We understand that children learn best when they are interested and intrigued. If you have any problems or queries, no matter how small, please do not hesitate to speak to one of the team who will be happy to help you. 

The Early Years Learning Journey

Every child in EYFS has their own 'Learning Journey'. This learning journey is a unique document. The adults working with your child will collect a range of evidence in order to show the progress your child is making as well as to clearly illustrate the characteristics of learning your child is demonstrating at a point in time. This evidence focuses on the learning that your child shows independently throughout the setting. At Crowton, we use an online learning journal called 'Tapestry'. You can view your child's learning at any time through an app which we will provide you a secure code to access. You can also add your any other learning from home and complete activities we add for homework tasks.
