“…with God, all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
At Crowton Christ Church C.E. Primary School, we are committed to taking practical, positive steps to protect our planet. Our Climate Action Plan, created as part of the national Let’s Go Zero campaign, sets out how we will reduce our carbon footprint, improve biodiversity and prepare our school for a changing climate.
We have published our Let’s Go Zero Climate Action Plan on this page so families and our community can see the actions we are taking over the next year. The plan includes our work on:
Energy efficiency – reducing energy use through LED lighting, smart metering, better heating control and encouraging pupils as “Energy Champions”.
Sustainable food – increasing plant-based options, reducing food waste and involving pupils in decision-making.
Waste reduction – improving recycling, reducing single-use items and running pupil-led eco campaigns.
Transport – promoting active travel including annual Bikeability training.
Climate resilience – preparing for hotter weather and managing water responsibly.
Biodiversity – supporting wildlife with gardening clubs, planting, bug hotels and outdoor learning spaces.
Climate education – supporting staff training, enriching the curriculum and giving pupils leadership opportunities in sustainability.
Our plan is reviewed annually and updated as new actions are completed. Together, pupils, staff, governors and families are helping our school become greener, healthier and more sustainable for the future.
