FFT National School Attendance Award
Date: 18th Jan 2023 @ 11:58am
We are very pleased to receive an FFT National School Attendance Award, to recognise our school as being in the top 10% for pupil attendance from similar FFT schools in England during Autumn Term!
What are the FFT Attendance Awards based on?
The awards have been given to schools with attendance in the Top 10% and Top 25% attendance certificates to schools in similar circumstances. FFT are a non-profit organisation who are backed by the Fischer Family Foundation, a registered charity that supports a range of UK-based education and health projects. FFT collect daily attendance data from over 10,500 schools and this data has helped schools track, monitor and compare their attendance every week.

Thank You from Foodbank Manager
Date: 11th Nov 2022 @ 2:48pm
Mr Eddie Thompson MBE, Foodbank Manager at Runcorn & District Foodbank has sent the following message to all our families who made donations during Harvest:
Thank you for sending Norley, Crowton Kingsley & Alvanley Churches’ and Norley, Crowton & Kingsley Schools' generous donation of food, which weighed 271.20 Kg!
This represents 774 meals provided to people in crisis in our local area. As you probably know, we do rely on individuals, schools, churches and organisations for both financial and food gifts and the demands grow as food and energy prices increase. Your splendid effort at this special time of year will make an important difference to people who are in crisis and struggling to put food on the table and keep themselves warm. Foodbanks throughout the country are giving out an emergency parcel of food every 13 seconds and with the cold winter weather to come it seems likely that more vulnerable families will need help.
We wish to offer our sincere thanks to all the parishioners, staff and children for their kindness and thoughtfulness.
Notifying School of Positive COVD-19 Test During Christmas Break
Date: 9th Dec 2020 @ 12:06pm
With the introduction of an INSET Day on 18th December, I would like to advise parents about the Track & Trace process from 18th December. Public Health England and schools have agreed a 6-day window after the final day of teaching in which schools are asked to remain contactable, so that they can assist with contact tracing where necessary. This will allow enough time for positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases to be identified and confirmed by a test and for the relevant contacts in the school to be traced.
As always, I remain available during the term for parents to notify me of any positive cases. In addition, from 18th to the 23rd December, I will also be available via email for notification of positive cases, where I will implement the Track and Trace process, in conjunction with Public Health England. For this purpose, you may contact me on my school email address: head@crowton.cheshire.sch.uk.
Please be aware of the relevant arrangements regarding positive cases in the 6-day window and beyond:
- For the first 6 days after 17th December, if a pupil or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, having developed symptoms within 48 hours of being in school, the school will assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school.
- Where a pupil or staff member tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms more than 48 hours since being in school, the school should not be contacted. Parents and carers should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.
- School staff will no longer remain on-call or conduct any contact tracing more than 6 days after the final day of teaching. As our last teaching day is now Thursday 17th December, there will be no pupil contact tracing by school beyond Wednesday 23rd December.
- Where pupils are required to self-isolate due to contact with a positive case after the first 6 days following the end of term, schools do not need to be informed about their absence until the first day of the new term.
Thank you.

Crowton Christ Church 150 Years Celebration
Over the next 12 months, we will be taking an active part in celebrating our wonderful church as it celebrates 150 years in the heart of our village.
A range of events are currently being planned and prepared with the hope that funds will be raised for some modest improvements in the comfort and utility of the building for both the congregation and others, like the school. As well as redecoration, improvements will include new pew cushions, an upgraded sound system and a new textile collage which our schoolchildren will help create.

NHS Track and Trace Scams
There has been an increase in scam calls in relation to NHS Track and Trace where people are being asked to pay for a home testing kit etc.
NHS track and Trace Service will never ask you to pay for a test, ask for bank details, passwords or pin numbers. Never share personal details if you are not sure who you are talking to.
