FFT National School Attendance Award
Date: 18th Jan 2023 @ 11:58am
We are very pleased to receive an FFT National School Attendance Award, to recognise our school as being in the top 10% for pupil attendance from similar FFT schools in England during Autumn Term!
What are the FFT Attendance Awards based on?
The awards have been given to schools with attendance in the Top 10% and Top 25% attendance certificates to schools in similar circumstances. FFT are a non-profit organisation who are backed by the Fischer Family Foundation, a registered charity that supports a range of UK-based education and health projects. FFT collect daily attendance data from over 10,500 schools and this data has helped schools track, monitor and compare their attendance every week.

Thank You from Foodbank Manager
Date: 11th Nov 2022 @ 2:48pm
Mr Eddie Thompson MBE, Foodbank Manager at Runcorn & District Foodbank has sent the following message to all our families who made donations during Harvest:
Thank you for sending Norley, Crowton Kingsley & Alvanley Churches’ and Norley, Crowton & Kingsley Schools' generous donation of food, which weighed 271.20 Kg!
This represents 774 meals provided to people in crisis in our local area. As you probably know, we do rely on individuals, schools, churches and organisations for both financial and food gifts and the demands grow as food and energy prices increase. Your splendid effort at this special time of year will make an important difference to people who are in crisis and struggling to put food on the table and keep themselves warm. Foodbanks throughout the country are giving out an emergency parcel of food every 13 seconds and with the cold winter weather to come it seems likely that more vulnerable families will need help.
We wish to offer our sincere thanks to all the parishioners, staff and children for their kindness and thoughtfulness.

Notifying School of Positive COVD-19 Test During Christmas Break
Date: 9th Dec 2020 @ 12:06pm
With the introduction of an INSET Day on 18th December, I would like to advise parents about the Track & Trace process from 18th December. Public Health England and schools have agreed a 6-day window after the final day of teaching in which schools are asked to remain contactable, so that they can assist with contact tracing where necessary. This will allow enough time for positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases to be identified and confirmed by a test and for the relevant contacts in the school to be traced.
As always, I remain available during the term for parents to notify me of any positive cases. In addition, from 18th to the 23rd December, I will also be available via email for notification of positive cases, where I will implement the Track and Trace process, in conjunction with Public Health England. For this purpose, you may contact me on my school email address: head@crowton.cheshire.sch.uk.
Please be aware of the relevant arrangements regarding positive cases in the 6-day window and beyond:
- For the first 6 days after 17th December, if a pupil or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, having developed symptoms within 48 hours of being in school, the school will assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school.
- Where a pupil or staff member tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms more than 48 hours since being in school, the school should not be contacted. Parents and carers should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.
- School staff will no longer remain on-call or conduct any contact tracing more than 6 days after the final day of teaching. As our last teaching day is now Thursday 17th December, there will be no pupil contact tracing by school beyond Wednesday 23rd December.
- Where pupils are required to self-isolate due to contact with a positive case after the first 6 days following the end of term, schools do not need to be informed about their absence until the first day of the new term.
Thank you.

Covid-19 Communication Update 27.11.2020
Date: 27th Nov 2020 @ 8:52am
This week the borough's COVID-19 infection rate has been the highest in the Cheshire and Merseyside area. We can all play our part to turn this around by following these simple measures.
- Wash your hands frequently
- Wear a face covering
- Make space by keeping a two-metre distance from others
- Get a test if you have COVID-19 symptoms by calling 119 or visiting nhs.uk/coronavirus.
Pupils and families are also reminded to follow the COVID-19 safety measures we have in place at our school.
- All adults to wear a face covering when visiting or entering the school premises including outdoor yard areas.
- Parents/carers to arrive and leave promptly when dropping off/collecting their child – please do not congregate and maintain social distancing as we know that the virus is easily transmitted from person to person.
- In schools/early year settings where it has been agreed that a parent/carer can enter the school premises for drop-off and pick-up, only one adult should enter.
- Students are to avoid congregating outside school and mixing with students from other schools and should go directly home.
When should my child self isolate?
Your child will need to self isolate if they have been in contact with someone displaying Covid-19 symptoms; someone who has received a positive COVID-19 test result, or awaiting a test result; if the school has informed you that your child needs to self isolate; if the NHS Test and Trace informs your child to self isolate.
What to do if you have a child self-isolating (see above) but you have another child still attending school
In this case, it is important that any siblings of the child self isolating, who are not showing COVID-19 symptoms, or any child who has not been advised to self-isolate by their school or the NHS test and trace service, remains in school so they can continue with their education. If you are unsure if your child should be in school, please contact the school.
If an adult or a child within a household is self-isolating but you have another child that needs to get to school, there are some options below you can follow to help your non-isolating child get to school safely without risking spreading the virus.
- If there is another adult within the household not isolating, they can take them to school.
- Parents should initially approach other family members or neighbours to take the non-isolating child to school (as per national guidance allowing for informal childcare).
- If the above options are not suitable for your circumstances, please get in touch with the school and we will work with you to make alternative arrangements.
REMEMBER:
- You might not have symptoms, but you could still spread COVID-19.
- wash hands, cover face, make space.
- Let’s play our part to help turn this around.

Crowton Christ Church 150 Years Celebration
Over the next 12 months, we will be taking an active part in celebrating our wonderful church as it celebrates 150 years in the heart of our village.
A range of events are currently being planned and prepared with the hope that funds will be raised for some modest improvements in the comfort and utility of the building for both the congregation and others, like the school. As well as redecoration, improvements will include new pew cushions, an upgraded sound system and a new textile collage which our schoolchildren will help create.

REMEMBRANCE 2020
Due to the continuing Pandemic and the latest Government restrictions, it is with a heavy heart that we have to advise you that the traditional Remembrance Services for Chester have moved online.
As a result, the Lord Mayor of Chester and the Chairman of Cheshire West and Chester Council have produced the following virtual services:
- Civic Remembrance Service
- Virtual Parade
- Looking back and remembering across west Cheshire
Chester Cathedral, Councillors, Military Personnel, and young people have all contributed to the production of the Civic Remembrance Service by recording their clips from their personal locations, including on board HMS Albion. For the Virtual Parade and looking back and remembering videos, photographs have been supplied by a number of Town and Parish Councils in Cheshire West, Chester Archives and Cheshire West and Chester Council.
We hope that you take the time to sit back and watch virtual services and we would also be grateful if you could share the links with your own contacts.
The message for Remembrance 2020 is to stay at home and pay your tributes from the safety of your own homes. We would also like to invite you all to stand on your door steps at 11am on Sunday 8 November to mark the national two minutes silence and if possible, please can you place a poppy in a window to show your respects to the fallen.
Attached below are the links to the Council’s You Tube account, where you will find the short videos. No accounts or logins are required to watch the videos – just click on the below link and they can be viewed from any smart phone, smart television, laptop or tablet.
