Message from the Lord Mayor of Chester and Chairman of Cheshire West and Chester Council:

REMEMBRANCE 2020

Due to the continuing Pandemic and the latest Government restrictions, it is with a heavy heart that we have to advise you that the traditional Remembrance Services for Chester have moved online.

As a result, the Lord Mayor of Chester and the Chairman of Cheshire West and Chester Council have produced the following virtual services:

• Civic Remembrance Service
• Virtual Parade
• Looking back and remembering across west Cheshire
   
  Chester Cathedral, Councillors, Military Personnel, and young people have all contributed to the production of the Civic Remembrance Service by recording their clips from their personal locations, including on board HMS Albion.   For the Virtual Parade and looking back and remembering videos, photographs have been supplied by a number of Town and Parish Councils in Cheshire West, Chester Archives and Cheshire West and Chester Council.
   
  We hope that you take the time to sit back and watch virtual services and we would also be grateful if you could share the links with  your own contacts.
   
  The message for Remembrance 2020 is to stay at home and pay your tributes from the safety of your own homes.  We would also like to invite you all to stand on your door steps at 11am on Sunday 8 November to mark the national two minutes silence and if possible, please can you place a poppy in a window to show your respects to the fallen.
