Re-opening of school - Parent Update 15th May 2020

Dear Parents,

I hope you are all safe, well and happy.

I just wanted to keep you up to date with events as I am sure you are eager to know what exactly is happening in schools from 1st June for Reception, Year 1 and Year 6.

At this current moment in time, Key Worker children and those who have been attending during lockdown will continue to be cared for as in previous weeks. Schools are being sent guidance on how to facilitate opening to a wider group of children in accordance with the Government’s announcement on Sunday to potentially re-open schools. But, as you can imagine, this changes hour by hour!

Therefore, we are currently putting together a plan together with risk assessments so that if we are able to open 1st June for those year groups above, we will have made the school as safe as possible for everyone. The safety of children, families and staff is of paramount importance and there will need to be many changes made within the school buildings to minimise the spread of the infection.

I will of course send you as much detail as I can when this plan is finalised and when we have had more guidance/advice from the Government and Local Authority.

I hope you have a lovely weekend and my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Yours sincerely,

Heather Harris
