Highly acclaimed, local artist, Wynne Roberts worked with all the children in school to design and produce a piece of work that would reflect the ethos of our school. All of our children, in all of our classes, took part in the project and painted the colourful designs. Everyone had a great time creating the artwork and Wynne was overwhelmed with the enthusiasm and passion of the children. We are thrilled with the results and think they echo perfectly what our school is all about - we hope you like them too!
Pleae pop in to our reception area and take a look, if you have not done so already!

She brought in artefacts of minibeasts which we were able to touch and study. We learnt many new facts about minibeasts, including how they use sensory information in a differnet way. We also learnt how it is important that we look after them because they are only small, but they are an essential part of the food chain.

On Thursday 9th October it was National Poetry Day. Class 4 used their Literacy work to create a poem.
Example of our Poems.
Gnarled branches stretched,
A forest of pine trees smiled,
The tranquil pond,
A slight ripple breaks.
Gnarled branches stretched,
Cool autumn breeze,
Silence,
Through the reeds.
Gnarled branches stretched,
The watery yellow, pink and violet hues,
As the moon slowly rose,
Peaceful.

On Tuesday 2nd June class 2 had a very exciting day at the World Museum in Liverpool. The children got the train from Acton Bridge station to Liverpool Lime Street station; some of the children had not been on a train before and so were very excited and nervous at the same time! At the museum the children learned about ancient Egypt and took turns to pop their heads through a Tutankhamun cut out. They dressed up as anglo-saxons and explored animals, from mini-beasts to dinosaurs, in their natural envirnoments. The also children enjoyed a special visit to the planetarium during their visit.
Before the children left Liverpool, they had time to have a tea time treat at a nearby hotel . Then, it was back to the station for the train journey home.
Mrs Harris and Mrs Martin were extremely proud of the way in which the children conducted themselves throughout the whole day; their excellent behaviour was praised and noted by members of museum staff. Well done Class 2!

With a full live band, backing singers and the internationally acclaimed conductor David Lawrence, the concert makes for one of the most exciting and memorable musical experiences you can imagine.
All the music is specially selected and arranged to give the children the widest variety of songs to perform. For some of the music, dance moves are also performed to add to the atmosphere.
Our choir performed brilliantly and all the children had a fabulous time!

Report By Beatrice, Year 5
On Friday 27th of February 2015, Class 4 went on a walk down to the woods at the end of Ainsworth Lane. We went for this walk because in Literacy we have been reading a book called 'Stolen Secrets' by Rachael Lindsay. When we went out we were looking for possible troll houses, or actual trolls. Sean ( a boy in our class) found a tree stump, which from a distance looked like an actual troll!
Trudging through the muddy, boggy path, some people got quite muddy, including me! As we were travelling through the woods a small, long fast-flowing river guided us through the endless tangle of branches and leaves. Peering around the woods, our class pictured a scene where Finnr's nest hung suspended in the air.
A sweet chirping sound echoes through the forests, there were birds everywhere!
