The Friends of Crowton School have been working hard on our school garden to improve it for our children. Robins were able to rake the vegetable beds and begin some planting. We had great converstaions we had about growing things.

Robins made up their own silly stories game in busy bee time today.
They were retelling stories they knew to each other and making up stories, much laughter could be heard.

Robins talked about Shrove Tuesday, ordered the method for making pancakes and made them. Eating them was the best part with fruit toppings.

This term our PHSE theme is dreams and goals. Several Robins have a goal of wanting to be a vet. Today Robins had a visit from a vet. We learnt about x-rays and bandaging.

Robins have be learning about Chinese New Year. As it is the year od the tiger we made masks and year 1 wrote adjectives about tigers. Reception practised the 'ch' sound. We listenined to the story of The Great Race about the animals of the Chinese zodiac.

Year 1 Robins have deconstructed a party cracker and begun to design and make their own cracker. This week it was the make of the hats and jokes.

Robin's played some Christmas Party Games today, as we count down to Christmas with lots of fun activities.
Chaffinches Crown Farm Nature Reserve

Chaffinches had a wonderful day out at Crown Farm Nature Reserve, which is looked after by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust. Over the course of the day we;
- built dens
- learnt about campfire safety
- toasted marshmallows and ate s'mores
- went on a hike around the reserve
- collected natural resources
- made our own willow wreaths using the items we had collected.
We really enjoyed ourselves and hope that we can go back again soon!

On Monday 6th December, Years 2 - 6 were invited to Crowton Christ Church to hear the Christmas Story from different views and perspectives. Through a carousel of stories we heard from the Shepherds, the Innkeeper, the Donkey, the Angel Gabriel and King Herod! We took part in crafts at each station and also learnt Away in a Manager in British Sign Language.
An excellent day to get us all in the Christmas Spirit!

Robins made a thumb pot and painted it. Just the right size for a chocolate tree decoration.

Mmmmmm..... it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Class 4 baked mini Christmas cakes following a traditional recipe and decorated them using icing. Most of us created a snowman, but a penguin did appear, too!

Class 4 went to Sports Hall Athletics at Weaverham High School on Monday. They did their school proud and came a 'very close to second' third! Well done, everyone!

Today we went to Church to decorate our school tree. Next time you are there see if you can spot any Robins on it.

Class 3 used their sketch books to help them plan and create their own Anglo Saxon belt buckles.

Class 4 used our school instruments to compose a 4 part piece that represented the different parts of the timeline in Titanic's sinking. We even had a saxophone section in one group!
