The Robins made wibbly wobbly egg carriers with a DT expert. We had great fun and we were amazing and listening to instructions.

Friends of Crowton PTA held the first children's Bake Off competition on Friday 15th March. We were overwhelmed with the response and the standard of the cakes and biscuits!
We would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to all the children who entered, all the families who supported and the Friends of Crowton School for organising the event. A wonderful £250 was raised for school resources. Thank you.

The day began with the staff dressed up as crayons from The Day the Crayons Quit. They told us the story.
We made book covers of our favourite book and there was a fancy dress competition.

Year 1 designed and made boats for DT and tested the materials and found out if they would float for Science.

Year 1 Robins have been learning about a famous person from the past in History.
They had great fun doing drama, ordering the story and making wanted posters.

Year 1 Robins generated question sentences about what they would like to know about our class pets.
With an adult they reserched the answers on the internet.
We enjoyed learning about Woody and Twilight oue class stick insects.
This linked to Speaking and Listening, Science, English, Computing and internet safety.

Year 1 have researched smoothies on the internet, designed thier own, written permission letters home and made their own fruit smoothies.
Great fun was had by all.

Some of the children decided to make kites and fly them as it was a windy day. Learning happened in the moment with many of them joining in to just one childs idea.

Robins (class 1) were visited by a vet. We learned about what a vet does and looked at animal x rays. We asked her lots of questions about her job. Some of us dressed up as vets and some of us bandaged an animal toy.

Year 1 have studied a famous artist from the past. They used thier imaginations to create thier own artwork in his style of lines and blocks of colour.

Class 1 had an amazing day out at Walton Gardens. We made and flew kites. We explored the woods and pond area and observed the animals in the childrens zoo. This all linked to our whole school Science week.
