Class 4 have learned this week that the sinking of the Titanic cannot be blamed upon one person, but several! And that there were many factors to consider! We researched some key characters and allocated a 'blame' rating to 4 of them in our topic work this week.

Class 4 have been working hard to use their descriptive skills to write about Captain Edward Smith, first class upon the ship and the eerie atmosphere after the sinking.

This week Robins learned about a good news story from the Bible. They acted out a kind stranger which is the story of 'The Good Samaritan' and then drew pictures of a part of the story that showed kindness.

Children in Class 4 complete a Big Write task every Friday. This is to prove their independent writing skills and show off what level 6 work we can do. We have relaxing music, fruit snacks, twinkly lights and candles to make the environment a relaxing and focussed one for our important writing work. This week, we have been editing and improving our Autobiographies.

A fantastic effort made by all of class 4 as they ran 2.62 miles in a mini marathon on Friday. Every child smashed their target and received a medal for their run. Brilliant sportsmanship shown by all and Class 3 came to cheer us on when we were near the finish line!

In Class 3 we have been looking at how the Anglo Saxons named different areas they lived. We used atlases to find examples still around in the UK today!

Robins had a visit from a dentist this week. We learnt how to brush our teeth and which sugary foods, like fizzy drinks, are bad for our teeth.

We all enjoyed walking down to watch the tractors and horses competing in the ploughing match. We are so lucky to be surrounded by such beautiful countryside and learning opportunities!

This green box is our class story box in yera 5/6. It is well loved and well used! Every term, we open the box to discover what text we will be reading for pleasure as a class. This term it is the wonderful 'The boy at the back of the class.' Each week, we get comfy in our reading corner on our bean bags and listen/discuss the next part of our story. We love our class story time :)

Robins had a very busy day on Wednesday. First we had a harvest breakfast in school and invited our families. We sang 'My God is so Great' and 'Oats and Beans and Barley Grow'.
Later in the morning we walked to the field by church to see the ploughing match. What a lot of tractors to count.
Then in the afternoon we wrote a harvest prayer together.

Robin's had a wondeful trip to church. We looked around and found out about the font and special windows.
We made a prayer bird to place on a tree and found out the bells are called faith, hope and charity.

In Class 3 we have began our topic of the Anglo Saxons and Vikings by looking at the end! We looked at the Bayeux Tapestry in detail looking at the story it told of the great battle. Here is our work in progess.

We took it easy at football club as the weather was scorching! We practised our dribbling and shooting skills and scored some crackers - eat your heart out Harry Kane!

Owls had lots of fun playing team games with George during their PE session. They practised their team work and communication skills as well as demonstrating inclusion, spatial awareness and accuracy.
