Crowton Sport & P.E. News

We recieve a grant form the Government towards providing good quality P.E and sports opportunities for all our children.

For the academic year 2016/2017 we received £8305.

The amount awarded by the DfE for the Academic year 2017/2018  increased to £16000 + £10 per pupil year 1-6. This payment is spread across two financial years

For the period Sept 17- Apr 18 (7/12ths ) we were allocated £9701 with a further payment of £6929 beallocated in the following financial year for period Apr - Jul 2018 (5/12th). Please download the file below to see how our PE grant is spent.

43% of KS 2 children attend our regular PE club after school each week with a qualified coach.

The coach is also offering a Summer Camp multi-skills course during the Summer holidays at our school.

62% of children at Crowton Christ Church Primary school regularly attend PE/Sport activities that include Swimming, Judo, Tennis, Ice Hockey, Dance, Horse riding, Basketball, Rugby and Athletics. Being such a small school we often lack the correct number of children for teams in competitions. With our allocated PE money we can offer clubs available and the sustained impact will see children at Crowton Christ Church Primary attending an increased number of competitions and become more competitive in the future.

Sustainability will also show by Training up Year 5’s to become Sports ambassadors and Fizz Kids representatives will encourage more children to participate in PE activities at Lunchtime. The Training will be done by the High School PE teacher who visits school.

Co delivery of PE lessons using the PE grant has proved extremely successful and will continue to run due to its success. Teachers have benefitted from observing specialist staff delivering PE to their classes then using those new skills to deliver high quality lessons. This high quality service which supports high participation in PE and Sport. The Vale Royal Sports partnership plan, organise and deliver a huge range of activities, competitions, training and subject leadership advice. In order to sustain this participation, we will continue to pay for this service.

In October 2015 we achieved the Sainsbury's School Games Mark in Bronze. This mark award recognises the hard work of staff to ensure all our pupils have access to a wide breadth of sports opportunities in school.
