COVID-19

Here you will find useful information in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. New national restrictions came into place in England on 5th November. Here is a link to the current guidance: www.gov.uk

The symptoms of COVID-19 as described on the NHS website are as follows:

a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Public Health Guidance for Schools:

  • All adults to wear a face mask when visiting or entering the school premises, including outdoor yard areas.
  • Parents/carers to arrive and leave promptly when dropping off/collecting their child at the allocated time. Please do not congregate and maintain social distancing.
  • Only 1 adult should enter the school premesis to drop off/collect their child.
  • Young people to avoid congregating outside school, mixing with other schools and to go directly home.
  • All staff to wear face masks when they come out onto the playground during drop off and pick up times.

Arriving at School

The top gate will be opened to pupils from the years 3 to 6 at 8.50am. We request that parents from these year groups do not come on to site without an appointment. Children from Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and their siblings from school need to arrive at 9am. Please observe social distancing guidance at all times.

Collecting at the end of the Day

Only 1 adult for pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 (KS1) and school siblings may come on to site at 3:10pm to collect their child. KS2 (Years 3 to 6) will be dismissed at 3:15pm. Please avoid congregating and always leave promptly.

Remote Learning

In the event of a School / Bubble closure or when a child is self isolating at home, work will be set by teachers for all children that are well enough to complete remotely at home. All children have access to their homework section of the website via a login name and password, where the remote learning will be set.

Hygiene

For everyone’s safety and as per national guidance, children will be washing their hands regularly throughout the day with soap and water. This includes when they arrive, before and after break and lunch, after certain activities, and before they leave. We also have hand sanitiser available in school for both staff and children. As a school we practice Catch It! Kill it! Bin It! Tissues are readily available for all children and are diposed off in hygiene waste.

Uniform

Pupils will come to school in uniform (without ties) on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, with PE kits being worn on Wednesday and Friday. Children should not bring any bags or stationery to school. All children will need to bring a NAMED water bottle each day, for water only.

After School Club / Breakfast Club

Clubs will operate within government guidelines; social distancing is encouraged and both Clubs have their own resources. Drop off and collection is at the main front door - please use the staff car park if there is a definite free space. If not please park at the village hall and walk down. There is strictly no parking/waiting on the road and zig zag areaPupils will not be allowed to attend ASC/BC without a confirmed, pre-booked session. Sessions can be pre -booked by emailing afterschoolclub@crowton.cheshire.sch.uk, or by completing and printing the booking form on our website and returning it to school with your child. If an emergency on the day ASC session is required, please email admin@crowton.cheshire.sch.uk stating whether an hour or full session is required or telephone the school office. As always, please remember to pay for all Club sessions in advance.
